Yeah, we needn’t to care the past and the furture, just grasp now and focus on what we’re doing.

Kat

You didn’t need to tell him the news; it just made him sad.

We need to work harder.

You needn’t talk so loud.

need

    Dear lihuichun,

Thank you for visiting my website :-D

I must tell you that learning at BeiwaiOnline means you have began a long journey towards a “qualified” Beiwai graduate. The whole process is very demanding, mentally and physically.

I had exactly the same feeling when I was a freshman. However, back in 2004, BeiwaiOnline organized quite a few lectures given by those towering figures in English teaching realm in China. I have uploaded some of them already. Please download them and study them carefully via http://cn.stevenlichen.com/archives/category/guru/lecture

Learning English, like all learning all subject matters, requires input (learn from book or your teachers), and output (practise what you have learnt, see how the theories would play out in the real world).

Hence, you need to ensure that you try to use whatever you have listened to or read in speaking or writing practices.

If you can make sure “High-Quality Input = High-Quality Output”, so much the better!

I encourage you, first of all, not to be disheartened by your present situation, it is only natural for you to feel the hardship of mastering a foreign language. Then, try to use English as often as possible, speak English with your friends, write it on the forums, even talk with yourself when nobody is around.

As well, I must emphasize the importance of our textbooks. They might seem “shallow”, but ask yourself “if I were given the same amount of vocabulary, could I write a textbook like that”?

Therefore, please calm down and immerse yourself in the English language for the whole summer. Notable progress might come late, but you will see yourself improving over hard learning for as short as a month.

    Keep going, don’t settle!

    thank you very much!!

Hi, Steven. I fixed it with your instruction. VCM files have their advantages, they display videos and help us understand the lectures better. Besides I am preparing for my exams recently, I have to spend all of my time on them and have no time to learn English…
