巧用英语让老板记住你
在多家海外的美国跨国公司工作后,我发现常常有当地的员工试图通过生辟复杂的单词或很长的复句给他们的美国或英语经理留下深刻的印象。但是,老实说,要捕获经理的心不是通过复杂的英语句子或单词,而是技巧的使用英语短语让他们了解你是他们不可或缺的员工。
I took the liberty of (alphabetizing the enrollment forms.) 美国和英国经理欣赏员工 take initiative做一些他们并没有要求完成的任务。所以找一些机会完成一些对工作有帮助的任务,然后再用以上的句子告诉你的老板。
I’d like to run something by you. 对于大的设想及项目,西方来的经理喜欢你in the loop,或让之参与其中。他们还欢迎好的想法。因此如果你想到什么商务计划,就用以上的句子,然后告诉你的老板具体的细节。
I can help out with that. 美国和英国经理还希望员工有挺身而出自愿承担责任的行为。向他们自动提出在新项目中承担工作能让他们觉得你很可靠而且积极。但是要小心,不要bite of more than you can chew只是一味要求承担自己不能完成的任务。
I’m already on top of that. 你的经理提到有一项任务要完成,而你已经着手做了,你就可以用这个短语,显示出你是一个称职的员工,你one step ahead of你的老板,比老板行动的还快。
Would you mind clarifying something for me? 除去主动性,美国或英国经理更看重效率。如果你对一些指示不理解的话,没有必要觉得不好意思问。只要使用上面的句子问明白情况,然后在第一时间完成工作就可以了。如果你的工作没有up to scratch,或者说没有达到预期的标准,那你交工的时候才更难堪。
